What is a neuromodulator also commonly referred to as Botox?
There are 4 neuromuscular blocking agents that are Health Canada approved. They are Xeomin, Dysport, Botox and Nuceiva. These are indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. They work by relaxing the muscle therefore creating a softened appearance improving existing signs of aging and thought to prevent future development of wrinkles. Some indications for Botox is medically indicated such as migraine treatment and treatment of spastic muscles but the majority of neuromodulator use is cosmetic.
How much will it cost me? How much Nuceiva will I require?
Neuromodulators like Nuceiva are medications. Though used for cosmetic reasons they are only to be administered by health care professionals trained to use them. Many factors are considered when dosing. These factors are but not limited to age, previous experiences with wrinkle relaxers, gender, strength of muscles and existing lines. The average dose for the upper face in North America is 64 units. (Note this is an average)
What areas can we treat with wrinkle relaxers?
